Dear Edwin and Tomasz,
Dec. 21st, 2012 01:42 amthank you for your invitation, which I am unfortunately unable to accept.
I have come to view foreign entry visas as a major problem, and
the U.K.'s are among the worst offenders.
For the record, I do not believe that the negative answer to the question,
I quote the visa application form, "Have you ever, by any means or
medium, expressed views that justify terrorist violence ..." would be
truthful in my case. People say various kinds of things once in a while,
and I am not an exception. For that matter, I have been talking politics
since the age of eight.
I've answered this negatively a couple of times, to be sure, but this is
not the way to go. I am tired of being humiliated by irresponsible
nobodies representing the irresponsible populations of formerly free
countries on the grounds of me belonging to the dying culture of
a collapsing country where nobody knows what freedom is, but I do.
I would likely agree to travel someplace where no advance visa
application requirement is imposed on the Russian passport holders.
The following general policy statement addresses the issue in some
more detail -- http://posic.livejournal.com/863098.html
Sorry for being unable to participate on this occasion,
Best regards,
Leonid Positselski
