Unfortunately, I cannot review this paper for Advances in Mathematics. One reason is that
I have enough reviewing job taken upon myself already and do not have enough time in
these later days.
Another reason is that, contrary to what you are saying, I cannot be of any assistance in
determining whether a particular submission is appropriate for publication in Advances.
Whatever my mathematical expertise may or may not be, such a phenomenon as
the high standards of Advances in Mathematics is certainly above my limited capacity of
understanding matters. I've already had one paper rejected by Advances after my
positive review several years ago, and more recently, had my own paper rejected by
Advances with the referee's remarks that my work is "clear and original" but "not yet
ready for publication in Advances in Mathematics".
I have no idea what being a paper "appropriate for publication in Advances in Mathematics"
might consist in.

Date: 2012-02-19 09:06 am (UTC)В public domain я их тоже не очень-то хочу передавать, поскольку это может восприниматься как некая лицензия на беспредел (хотя при прочих равных это может быть лучшим из возможных решений в существующих условиях). Я предпочел бы жить в мире, где вместо законов о копирайте существуют некие обычаи приличного поведения, род правил вежливости. Где за неуважение к автору/издателю не судят, но в каком-то крайнем случае могут не подать руки.
Как только оказывается, что у меня есть эти эксклюзивные права и они в принципе передаваемы или наследуемы, появляются претенденты на наследство. Авторы "делают это" потому, что им нужно публиковаться и принятый формат публикации подразумевает "это".

Date: 2012-02-19 09:50 am (UTC)Есть альтернативы - скажемъ, лицензiя GNU Free Documentation License, - это "строгая" лицензiя, позволяющая другимъ людямъ модифицировать твой текстъ, но не позволяющая кому-либо присвоить эксклюзивныя права на этот текстъ или на любыя его модификацiи. Есть другiя лицензiи типа "Creative Commons", но я не разбирался, что именно они даютъ.
