Yes. That is the reason I do so much thinking about my values, preferences, choices, experiences, problems, the past, the present, and the whole situation (what is called рефлексия in Russian). Many readers of this blog may interpret this as "overthinking", but I do not really think that I am thinking too much.

I would say that the ceiling of your work is largely determined by your quality of thought. Your effective work level can be lowered by other factors such as poor tools, a bad work environment, or trying to work while exhausted.

The paragraph of advice cited in my entry contains the words "over time". If the quality of your thinking is high then, over time, you will acquire efficient tools, make sure that you have a good work environment (e.g., by changing places in order to move from a bad work environment to a better one), and learn to get enough rest so as not to work while exhausted.
