There's no arriving.
The idea that you'll reach some destination where everything is finally handled is a beautiful lie that keeps you chasing horizons. The point was never to arrive -- it was to become someone interesting along the way.

Another week or month, and the length of my list of peer-reviewed publications (with the final bibliographical datum available) will reach the mark "70". I tend to think of it as a kind of arrival, but it probably isn't.
Have I become someone interesting along the way? It depends very much on interesting to whom. There are too many people to whom I do not want to be interesting at all.
