All of this, I have to say, indeed goes a bit beyond what unfortunately appears to be the present-day conventional wisdom in homological algebra, esposed in terminology such as the "ind-coherent sheaves" or "ind-finite-dimensional modules" and the mode of thinking that it entails. One has to stop perceiving the subject as a closed list of decades-old truisms which just have to be applied one after one in the right order to get to a satisfactory answer to whatever appears to be the pressing question of the day, and relearn to surprise oneself with new ideas, thinking them through and adding previously unknown items to your collection of truisms as you proceed along the way.
