"I also feel that in present circumstances, it is my duty to acknowledge my gratitude to the Dynasty Foundation, for the financial support extended over the years both to me and to many other mathematicians in Russia. As far as I know, until its forcible closure by the powers-that-be in June, 2015, Dynasty Foundation had been the only source of funding for mathematics in Russia that was not related to the government of the Russian Federation, and coincidentally, the only source of funding where one could be sure that the money was free from any criminal taint."
